ROBAN: The UKAS Bersama Komuniti@Roban programme at SJKC Chung Hua here served as a key platform to disseminate government policies and initiatives to the local community.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri thanked UKAS and the residents for their support to the event.
“We are indeed fortunate in the Betong Division to receive RM1.5 billion in allocations under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), with RM200 million channelled specifically to the Kalaka constituency,” he said when officiating at the event on Sunday (Jun 29).
He added that RM91 million has also been allocated for the development of the Saratok Waterfront, which is among the division’s key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing community well-being.
Mohamad Duri stressed that such development progress is a result of Sarawak’s political stability and effective governance.
“Our development planning is sustainable, with the goal of ensuring comfort and prosperity for all Sarawakians,” he said.
Meanwhile, Krian assemblyman Friday Belik also lauded the efforts of UKAS and other stakeholders in making the programme a success, describing it as a symbolic closing to this year’s Gawai celebration for the Iban community.
“Programmes like this serve as vital platforms to strengthen unity among Sarawak’s multiracial and multi-religious communities,” he said.
He said the presence of Iban, Malay, and Chinese residents at the event reflected the strong spirit of togetherness and harmony in Roban.
“UKAS plays a crucial role in ensuring government policies and information are delivered accurately, credibly, and promptly to the people,” he added.
Also present were UKAS director Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan and Kabong District Officer Tahir Mohd Sharee.
