TEBEDU: The Serian National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) stepped up its drug prevention efforts at the 2025 Tebedu District Women’s Day Programme recently.

At  the programme, organised by the Tebedu District Office, AADK Sarawak also aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of drug abuse, especially its impact on women and families.

“The highlight was a talk on ‘Drugs and Their Impact on Women’ by Serian District AADK officer, Samsur Samawi,” the agency said in a statement.

According to TVS, Samsur stressed that drug abuse could harm women’s health, destabilise emotions and disrupt family institutions.

AADK also held a prevention exhibition featuring information on drug types, their effects, and the role of communities in curbing abuse.

Awareness pamphlets were distributed to extend the anti-drug message to a wider audience, in line with the agency’s target of a Drug-Free Community by 2025.
