PUTRAJAYA: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today attended the 26th Malaysia-Brunei Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC) at Kompleks Seri Perdana here.
The consultation was co-chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei.
Abang Johari arrived at about 10:00 am to witness the exchange of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Malaysia and Brunei in the health sector. He later attended a luncheon hosted by Anwar.
Abang Johari’s participation is seen as a key platform to further strengthen bilateral ties between Malaysia and Brunei, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, investment and energy.
This is significant as Sarawak shares a long land border with Brunei and serves as a vital gateway for socio-economic relations between the two countries on Borneo.
Also present were Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen Bolkiah, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Brunei government delegates.
