TOULOUSE: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg witnessed the signing of a strategic collaboration agreement between Malaysia’s AIROD and French aerospace firm SATYS yesterday (May 4).
The ceremony took place at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel here, where the agreement was formalised through an exchange of official documents between Datuk Firhad Uzir Abdul Rahim representing AIROD, and SATYS chief executive officer (CEO) Christopher Cador.
The partnership aims to combine local and international expertise in aircraft maintenance and painting, with a focus on advancing Malaysia’s aerospace sector.
AIROD, in a statement, said the collaboration is expected to generate strong synergy between the two companies.
It is also set to drive technological progress, foster growth, and support Sarawak’s ambition of developing a competitive and sustainable aerospace ecosystem.
AIROD is Malaysia’s premier maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service provider, while SATYS is a leading French company in aircraft painting and sealing.
Flying in from London after a weeklong United Kingdom (UK) working visit, the Premier and his delegation are scheduled to visit the Airbus facility here today.
