SINGAPORE: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has arrived here and is set to deliver a keynote address at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2025 tomorrow (Monday, October 27).
His keynote, titled ‘Advancing Sustainable Hydropower and Regional Energy Integration’, will highlight Sarawak’s leadership in renewable energy and its role in driving regional energy integration across ASEAN.
TVS reported that his arrival in Singapore follows his participation in the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, which focused on the energy transition agenda and sustainable growth.
During his visit, the Premier is also scheduled to hold meetings with PFYN Capital AG, MASDAR, and Blueleaf Energy/Chemsain to explore collaborations in hydropower, hydrogen, and low-carbon technologies.
Sarawak’s participation in SIEW reinforces its position as a regional leader in clean energy.
Through the Sarawak Energy Transition Policy (SET-P), Sarawak Hydrogen Economy Roadmap (SHER), and the Sarawak Sustainability Blueprint 2030 (SSB 2030), the state aims to generate 10 gigawatts of power by 2030, create 80,000 green jobs, and attract global investments.
