KUCHING: Kuching City FC’s 2-0 victory over Negeri Sembilan was celebrated in the presence of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Sarawak State Stadium, Petra Jaya, on Saturday (Jan 31).
Abang Johari made a special appearance to watch the Malaysia Super League clash, arriving around 8.00 pm, where he was warmly welcomed by the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Iswandi Ali Hassan.
His attendance underscores the state leadership’s strong and ongoing support for the growth of football in Sarawak.
This marked a significant occasion, as it was the Premier’s first time witnessing Kuching City FC in action since the club’s inception a decade ago.
The match unfolded in an electric atmosphere, drawing a crowd of 6,535 passionate spectators – a clear testament to the unwavering local support for KCFC and the revival of Sarawak football on the national stage.
Also in attendance was the club’s President, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, who joined in celebrating the team’s impressive win.
