MIRI: Despite having recently experienced personal loss, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has assured that his commitment to serving the people of Sarawak remains steadfast.
“Although I am filled with a sense of loss, the support of the people of Sarawak continues to give me strength.

“The work we do here is for the benefit of the people, and I hope that my wife’s sacrifices to me and to the state will bring her blessings,” he said.
He said this when officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Marina Bridge here today.
Alluding to the Sarawak Day celebration today, he called for stronger unity among Sarawakians, likening it to the “ant culture” where even the smallest beings work harmoniously for a common goal.
This sentiment, he said, should guide the state as it continues to advance in development.
“Let us not adopt the culture of crabs, where if one crab climbs, the others pull it back down. Instead, let us embrace the culture of ants, where, though small, there is strong unity,” he said.
Abang Johari stressed that while challenges may arise, it is essential for the people of Sarawak to remain united, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.
“On this auspicious day, as we celebrate Sarawak Day, I pray that our state remains peaceful and prosperous, and that the people continue to uphold unity, regardless of their background or religious beliefs.
