SARIKEI: The leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in advancing the state’s development merits appreciation from everyone.
Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister and Sarikei MP, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said that under Abang Johari’s leadership, Sarawak continues to move forward with determination and commitment through the implementation of various strategic initiatives that directly benefit the people.
He said among the key initiatives carried out are strengthening rural infrastructure development and implementing free higher education starting this year.
“In addition, the Sarawak Government also emphasises green and sustainable economic development, while providing assistance to low-income groups through the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance (SKAS),” he said.
Huang said this in his speech at the official opening of the 2026 Chinese New Year celebration held here on Friday.
He also stressed that all these efforts demonstrate the Premier of Sarawak’s care and wisdom, as he always prioritises the interests of the people regardless of their background.
Huang added that this inclusive approach ensures that every segment of society can enjoy progress and prosperity together.
“In this regard, let us together appreciate his service and dedication, as he continues to lead Sarawak with a far-reaching vision and high concern for the welfare of the people,” he added.
