KUCHING: Sarawak’s Abang Yahya Abang Azhar adds another gold to his personal collection after knocking down 3,746 pins to secure first place in the TPB4 Men’s Event.
Taking place at collection at Top Bowl, Kai Tak Sports Park, Kowloon, Hong Kong, this marked the Kuching native’s second gold, following his victory in the Men’s TPB4 Singles category.
The Malaysian flag continues to fly high in Hong Kong as the national para bowling athletes secured two more gold medals at the IBF Para Bowling World Championship 2025 on Wednesday (Jan 22). Another gold medal was contributed by Marcos Chang Hao Hong in the TPB9 Men’s Singles category with a pinfall of 1,393. Meanwhile, Abang Yahya, 26, also contributed a silver medal alongside Muhamad Rizuan Madzhi in the TPB4 Men’s Doubles category, with a total of 2,486 pins.
The excellent performance was also mirrored by the women’s team, with Nur Syazwani Marais and Azeera Jalani securing a silver medal in the TPB4 Women’s Doubles category after knocking down 2,120 pins. The outstanding day for Malaysia was rounded off with a silver medal from Nur Amalina Mohd Mosadad in the TPB10 Women’s Singles category. The Malaysian bowlers, including from Sarawak, began competing on Jan 18 and will finish their campaign on Friday today.
