KUCHING: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) is set to commemorate its 60th anniversary with a grand gala dinner.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate the event themed “Glorious 60, Forging Ahead Relentlessly” on Saturday (June 14) at the Imperial Hotel, Kuching.
Founded in 1965, ACCCIS has spent six decades championing Sarawak’s business community, promoting economic growth, unity and cooperation throughout the state.
This year’s celebration reflects both on the chamber’s legacy and its commitment to driving future progress.
The event will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 pm, followed by the gala dinner at 8:00 pm.
Attendees will include ACCCIS Council members and delegates from its 21 constituent chambers across Sarawak, representing towns and cities such as Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Bintulu, Sri Aman, Limbang, Betong, and more.
The evening will also be attended by members of the Sarawak Cabinet, foreign diplomats, Consul-Generals, senior government officials, representatives of trade associations, commercial banks, corporate sponsors and invited business leaders from China and Malaysia.
Their presence is expected to strengthen business ties, foster new opportunities and encourage regional and international cooperation.
In conjunction with the celebration, ACCCIS will also hold a briefing session for the ACCCIM Pavilion (Malaysia) Promotion Event at 5:00 pm on the same day at Danum 5 Room, Level 5, Imperial Hotel Kuching.
The session aims to encourage Sarawak-based enterprises to participate in the upcoming 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), promoting local products and exploring global market potential.
