BEKENU: A man injured in a road accident just days before Hari Raya Aidilfitri received a wheelchair yesterday (Apr 9) donated by Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni, easing his family’s burden.

Andrias Padan, in his 50s, was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle in the Bekenu area.

The crash, which occurred two days before the festive celebration, left him with a broken leg and limited mobility.

According to his cousin, Umang Ukong, the donation means a great deal to the family.

“We are truly grateful to Datuk Lukanisman for his compassion and concern for those going through difficult times,” said Umang.

The wheelchair has provided immediate support for Andrias’ recovery, enabling him to return home from Miri Hospital.
