Afa FC secure Betong women’s futsal crown with confident win

DEBAK: Afa FC stamped their dominance in Debak after storming to a solid 2-0 win over Fuerza FT to lift up the Betong 2025 Women’s Open Futsal, Datin Hafsah Saleh Cup.

The formidable Kuching side controlled the final at the Riviera Sports Centre futsal court today, securing the title with a composed performance that earned them the challenge trophy, medals, and RM1,000 in cash.

Fuerza FT, who finished as runners-up, took home RM700 and medals, while Sesang Tigris and Alter Ego FC each received RM400 and medals as joint third-place winners after bowing out in the semifinals.

The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam; Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Saribas Women’s Chief, Rohana Julai; and Betong Division Football Association (BDFA) Honorary Secretary, Saiful Hanizam Suhaini; along with local community leaders.

Razi commended the organising committee, describing the tournament as a well-executed initiative that successfully provided a platform for players to showcase their talent while strengthening five-a-side football development not only in Debak but throughout the Betong Division.

“Congratulations to the organising committee for successfully hosting this tournament,” he said

He added that the event is expected to become an annual fixture with an increase in prize money next year.

A total of 11 teams competed, representing clubs from Debak, Betong, Saribas, Saratok, Sarikei, Mukah and Kuching.
