KUCHING: Sarawak has emerged as a rapid expansion market for AFFIN Bank, with its branch network rising from six to 13 in under eight months.

AFFIN Bank Bhd President and Group CEO, Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah, said the AFFIN Hikmah Exchange Branch sits at the heart of the group’s Sarawak network, serving as the central hub of its operations in the state.

“We have rapidly built a strong statewide presence, growing from just six branches to 13 AFFIN branches in under eight months,” he said in his welcome speech at AFFIN’s Chinese New Year Dinner 2026 on Wednesday at Sheraton Kuching Hotel.

Wan Razly said the wider footprint is being matched by loan growth in the state’s Community Banking segment.

“Loan growth in our Community Banking segment in Sarawak has recorded a robust 19 per cent, reflecting the confidence of the local market and the trust our customers place in AFFIN,” he said.

Wan Razly said the group has also expanded access points across Sarawak through self-service infrastructure.

“We further strengthen our reach with 76 ATM machines strategically deployed across the state, offering dual functionality for both cash withdrawals and deposits,” he said.

He added that AFFIN is also using its Mobile Financial Centre (MFC) to extend basic banking services into rural and semi-urban communities, including through a unit operating in Sarawak.

“With three MFC units, including one operating in Sarawak, we have reached over 19,000 residents, providing account opening, advisory, and transaction services to those who need it the most,” he said.
