KUCHING: The new microinsurance plan, Qaseh Setia, by FWD Insurance and BSN has attracted over 20,000 Malaysians since its launch in April this year.

The insurance plan is aimed at making insurance affordable for the B40 income group, offering coverage from as little as RM0.20 a day.

It provides up to RM90,000 for accidental death, RM15,000 for non-accidental death or permanent disability, and RM3,000 for funeral expenses.

FWD Insurance’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mak See Sen, said that the scheme was designed to ensure protection is accessible to all segments of society.

“Qaseh Setia reflects our unwavering commitment to making insurance truly accessible for all. It’s more than just a microinsurance policy.

“It’s a meaningful step towards empowering underserved communities, giving them the protection and confidence they deserve. Peace of mind shouldn’t be a luxury, it is a necessity and should be accessible to all,” he said.

Meanwhile, BSN’s CEO, Jay Khairil, cited that the initiative fits the bank’s vision of ensuring inclusivity.

“Qaseh Setia reinforces our mission of ‘No Malaysian Left Behind’ by making essential protection accessible and affordable for all Malaysians, especially the B40 community.

“This is about helping Malaysians safeguard their loved ones and to ease financial pressures during life’s most challenging moments,” he said.

The plan does not require a medical check-up upon enrolment, removing a common barrier to insurance uptake among lower-income households.

In light of this, FWD Insurance is running a roadshow at Mytown Shopping Centre from August 21 to 24 under its FWD Fiesta Campaign.

Visitors can learn more about Qaseh Setia and other products such as Qaseh Bakti Plus, take part in activities including a sand art station for children, and undergo complimentary health checks.

Lucky draw prizes will also be offered, including a Proton X50 as the grand prize.
