LUNDU: Two agricultural road projects in Kampung Stenggang, Bau, and Kampung Jantan, Lundu, are set to improve rural connectivity under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) initiative.
Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang officially handed over the project sites yesterday, marking a step forward in enhancing access to agricultural areas.
In Kampung Stenggang, a new 2.2-kilometre agricultural road will be constructed, including 150 metres of concrete pavement, with an allocated budget of RM1.2 million.
Meanwhile, the upgrading of the existing road in Kampung Jantan will cover 1.31 kilometres, incorporating 80 metres of concrete pavement, at a cost of RM300,000.

During his visit, Billy also inspected the Agricultural Road Upgrading Project in Kampung Sebandi Hulu, Lundu, which is valued at RM400,000.
He emphasised that these projects will significantly benefit local farmers by providing better access to their farmlands and creating new opportunities for economic growth.
“This initiative not only eases transportation for farmers but also contributes to the long-term development of rural areas,” he said.
