KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, today expressed his appreciation for the service and sacrifices of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who will officially retire tomorrow (Monday, July 27).
In a Facebook post today, Ahmad Zahid also conveyed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to Ayob Khan for his dedicated service and sacrifices throughout nearly 35 years with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
“I pray that Tan Sri will always be blessed with good health, that all your affairs will be eased, and that you will continue to have opportunities to contribute your experience and wisdom to the nation in whatever role you undertake after this.
“I wish you all the best as you embark on a new chapter of life with your beloved family. I pray that Allah will reward all your service and sacrifices in the best possible way,” he said.
Ayob Khan was appointed Deputy Inspector-General of Police on June 23, 2023, after serving in several key positions within the PDRM, including as Johor police chief, Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director, and Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director.
Following his retirement, Bukit Aman Special Branch Director, Datuk Seri Ibrahim Darus, has been appointed Acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police, effective today. – BERNAMA
