KUCHING: Kuching City FC (KCFC) are close to securing head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak’s stay, with contract negotiation now reaching 80 per cent.
KCFC’s Chief Executive Officer, Iswandi Ali Hassan, said the club is still in discussions with the Singaporean coach, with a decision expected to be announced soon.
“We are still in discussions, which have now reached over 80 per cent. We will announce the decision in the near future,” he told Sarawak Tribune when met recently.
Aidil’s potential extension is seen as a timely move given his impact on the team since taking charge.
Under his wing, Kuching City have reached the semi-finals of the 2025/2026 Malaysia Cup, holding Selangor FC to a 1-1 draw in the first leg, with the return leg set for April 18 on home ground.
The Cats are also currently among the top three teams in the Malaysia Super League, and will face PDRM FC on April 12 at the Sarawak State Stadium.
