KUCHING: Kuching City FC chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman confirmed head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The announcement, made through a club statement, comes after Aidil guided the Cats to one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history, including a Malaysia Cup final appearance and qualification for the 2026/2027 AFC Champions League Two.
The statement said the extension reflects the management’s confidence in Aidil’s leadership, dedication and long-term vision in continuing to strengthen the club at both Malaysian and Asian level.
“Since taking charge of the team, Aidil Sharin has played an important role in shaping the club’s playing identity, strengthening team spirit, and achieving various proud milestones for Kuching City FC.
“The club believes this continuity will provide stability and positive momentum in efforts to build a brighter future for the team and all Kuching City FC supporters,” the statement read.
The club also expressed appreciation to supporters, sponsors and strategic partners for their continued backing throughout the team’s journey.
“Together, we continue moving forward,” it added.
Under Aidil’s guidance during the 2025/2026 season, Kuching City FC reached the Malaysia Cup final before falling 2-0 to Johor Darul Ta’zim.
The Cats also finished second in the 2025/26 Malaysia Super League season with 53 points to secure qualification for the 2026/2027 AFC Champions League Two, while additionally reaching the semi-finals of the Malaysia FA Cup.
