KUCHING: The Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM) continued its Aidilfitri outreach with a meaningful contribution handover ceremony at Ar Rahnu YaPEIM Taman Sukma.
The programme aimed to support underprivileged groups, including students, families in need and local institutions, reflecting YaPEIM’s ongoing commitment to community development and social responsibility initiatives nationwide.
“This programme reflects YaPEIM’s continuous effort to uplift communities through integrated initiatives focusing on economic development, education advancement and strengthening social wellbeing,” said manager Fadlie Zamuri.
He said this during the contribution handover ceremony held at the compound of YaPEIM Taman Sukma on Tuesday (April 7).
He added that such initiatives aligned with YaPEIM’s core objectives for 2026, ensuring assistance reaches those in need while fostering inclusive and sustainable community growth.
The ceremony marked the third implementation of the Aidilfitri contribution programme in Sarawak, with six more sessions scheduled across the state in the coming weeks.
“Nationwide, the initiative covers 191 Ar Rahnu YaPEIM branches, coordinated by state-level YaPEIM centres in collaboration with various strategic partners and local communities.
“The programme runs throughout Syawal, beginning March 26 until April 21, benefiting diverse recipients, including the underprivileged, orphans, students and small-scale entrepreneurs.”
In addition, around 300 individuals comprising institutional representatives, residents, corporate partners and donors are involved, highlighting strong community participation in the initiative.
Fadlie emphasised the importance of public contributions, noting that the success of such programmes depends heavily on continuous support from donors to the YaPEIM Trust Fund.
“Through consistent contributions, we are able to expand our outreach and assist more families and individuals who require immediate and long-term support.”
He also expressed appreciation to all parties involved, including organisers, volunteers and contributors for their dedication in ensuring the smooth execution of the programme.
He hoped that more individuals would come forward to contribute regularly, enabling YaPEIM to sustain and broaden its assistance programmes in the future.
