KUCHING: Several Sarawak products such as fashion, handbags and many more will be showcased by international artists attending the 2023 ASEAN International Film Festival (AIFFA) Gala Night this Friday.
The matter was informed by the general manager of CENTEXS Commercial, Shahren Yusri, adding that he has established cooperation with AIFFA to promote Sarawak products to the world.
“International artists who showcase Sarawak products will indirectly promote them to the outside world and this is one of the ways we promote our local products.
“Not only clothes, but handbags and much more will be used by them and all these products are the result of local designers, CENTEXS Commercial students and the Sarawak community,” he said when met after receiving a visit from the AIFFA 2023 women’s delegation in Juma’ani Pavillion here, today.
Commenting on the visit of the AIFFA 2023 women’s delegation, Shahren said his side was working with AIFFA 2023 in an effort to promote local products by giving them exposure to Sarawak products, especially in the fashion field.
At the same time, he said, CENTEXS Commercial had also collaborated with Miss International Sarawak (MIS) 2023 and brought the winners including the MIS finalists to display the heritage clothes and products available at the Juma’ani Pavilion.
“In fact, some of them became our ambassadors to promote Sarawak products to the public. Therefore, with a programme like this, we can raise the name or local products.
“This is because when the AIFFA delegation or MIS 2023 finalists return to their respective places, we can indirectly bring our products out of Sarawak,” he said.
Meanwhile, a total of 16 AIFFA 2023 women delegates visited Juma’ani Pavilion consisting of famous producers, directors and actors such as Datin Dr Wendy Wong; Datuk Nancie Foo; Datuk Ayu; Gaya; Samarinna; Datuk Hasniza; Wanna Ali; Manjeet Sidhu; Roselyn Lah and Regina Jemen.
Among the other delegates were Marissa Ramsay; Datin Dona Wee ; Gracie Geikie; Datin Melinda Lawan; Bidget Taja and Debbie Esezoobo.
All the delegations were also presented with a fashion show created by the famous fashion designer Datuk Raymond Jolly by the MIS 2023 finalists and a demonstration of the art of keringkam.
