KUCHING: Sarawak-based technology firm Insights Analytics Berhad is gearing up for expansion as it taps new opportunities in smart water and digital infrastructure projects across Malaysia.
Managing director Frank Wee said the company is well positioned to capitalise on national and state-led initiatives aimed at modernising water infrastructure, strengthening digital resilience, and supporting sustainable urban development.
He said the firm’s proprietary Intelli Water System and intelligent asset management solutions align with programmes such as the National Non-Revenue Water Programme (2025–2030), the Sarawak Alternative Water Supply Initiative, Water Sector Transformation 2040, and Sarawak’s RM20 billion Smart Water Infrastructure Blueprint.
“These long-term initiatives are creating a strong pipeline of projects for the water industry. With our technology and track record, Insights Analytics is well positioned to play a meaningful role in supporting Malaysia’s water transformation and digitalisation goals,” he said.
To support its expansion, Wee said the company will establish a new corporate office in Kuching featuring a mini data centre to strengthen digital infrastructure and service capacity. The centre will offer small and medium enterprises a secure hybrid or cloud-based platform to host and manage their software and applications.
“Our goal is to empower more organisations to adopt digital solutions without the burden of managing hardware or in-house IT infrastructure. We are also investing in research and development while hiring professionals in machine learning, data analytics, AI model development, and cloud engineering to enhance our intelligent water management platforms,” he said.
Beyond Sarawak, Insights Analytics plans to extend its reach to West Malaysia, setting up a dedicated on-site support team to improve customer engagement and project delivery.
At present, the company has four active tenders in Sarawak with a combined value of RM27.8 million, involving advanced water technology and infrastructure works.
“The next decade will be defined by digital transformation, and Insights Analytics aims to be at the forefront, particularly at the intersection of data, water technology, and infrastructure intelligence,” he said.
The company’s growth momentum follows its listing on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia, where it raised RM43.56 million from a public issue of 121 million new shares at RM0.36 per share. Of the proceeds, RM22.2 million was allocated to
working capital, RM9 million to strategic investments, RM4.4 million to the new Sarawak corporate office and data centre, RM1.86 million to IT expansion, and RM1.21 million to its West Malaysia branch. The remaining RM4.9 million will cover listing expenses.
As of September 8, 2025, Insights Analytics’ unbilled order book stood at RM35.3 million, to be recognised progressively over six financial years. Based on its IPO price, the company’s market capitalisation is estimated at RM198 million.
Wee said its outlook remains buoyed by government-led digitalisation and smart city initiatives, including the Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030, the National AI Roadmap, and the MyDigital Catalytic Projects that encourage wider use of AI, IoT, and cloud technologies.
“We see ourselves as an enabler of Malaysia’s digital and smart infrastructure ambitions,” he said.
Founded in Sarawak, Insights Analytics provides water technology and intelligent asset management solutions for sectors including utilities, hospitality, transportation, and construction. Its key clients include the Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar Sarawak, Sibu Water Board, Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd, and Kuching Water Board.
