KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia has signed a partnership with HYROX APAC, linking its regional network to the fast-growing fitness race circuit as athletes and fans travel across Asean and beyond for events.

AirAsia X chief commercial officer Amanda Woo said the partnership came as fitness became a global lifestyle movement and built on AirAsia’s sports tie-ups, including ASEAN football, the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and its AirAsia RedRun introduced last year.

She pointed out that sports had always been a huge part of AirAsia’s DNA as it upheld its ‘Dare to Dream’ value.

“Since our inception, we have partnered with renowned global sporting platforms, from ASEAN football to the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and our very own AirAsia RedRun which we introduced last year.

“Our partnership with HYROX comes at the right time as fitness becomes a global lifestyle movement.

“With AirAsia’s network spanning over 130 destinations and AirAsia MOVE as a one-stop platform for flights and hotels, we can offer seamless travel experiences that bring people closer to the sports they love.

“Through this partnership with HYROX, we look forward to continuing our mission to bring communities together,” she said.

In light of this, AirAsia said all participants registered for selected HYROX races partnered with the airline in 2026 would receive an exclusive 10 percent discount on flights within a designated period during their initial registration with HYROX.

A highlight of the 2026 HYROX calendar will see AirAsia step in as title partner for two flagship events in the region, AirAsia HYROX Jakarta and AirAsia HYROX Kuala Lumpur.

AirAsia HYROX Jakarta will be held from June 6 to 7, 2026 at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), while AirAsia HYROX Kuala Lumpur is scheduled for December 2026.

HYROX APAC managing director Gary Wan said HYROX was more than a race and described it as a lifestyle and sport built around community, consistency and shared ambition.

“Partnering with AirAsia allows us to better support our athletes and fans by making travel across the region more accessible, while strengthening HYROX’s presence in key markets,” he said.

Beyond race weekends, AirAsia and HYROX said they would launch community-driven initiatives and on-ground activations, and AirAsia would also team up with selected HYROX Training Club gyms.

Focus markets include Osaka (Japan), Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong and Incheon (South Korea), with more destinations across the region to be supported under the partnership.

During the official announcement event, the two brands also unveiled a special co-branded aircraft livery themed ‘Keep Moving, Keep Rising’, marking the start of the collaboration.

HYROX said it had staged events in 10 cities across Asia Pacific and had drawn over 196,000 participants to date, reflecting the region’s growing appetite for fitness, wellness and experiential sports.
