KUCHING: AirAsia launched its first Sarawak campaign of the year with the Kuching Travel Fair at Vivacity Megamall, offering exclusive travel deals from yesterday until today.

Travellers can enjoy up to 25 per cent off flights from Kuching, 50 per cent off pre-booked baggage fees, and 33 per cent off pre-booked Santan meals, along with special Tune Protect travel insurance discounts.

AirAsia Malaysia CEO Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra highlighted the airline’s growing role in boosting Sarawak’s tourism through expanded connectivity and new routes.

“We have significantly strengthened our presence in Sarawak, reinforcing our position as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline. Our robust regional network helps attract more visitors while offering greater travel opportunities,” he said.

AirAsia aims to support Sarawak’s goal of welcoming 5 million visitors by 2025, with Kuching as a key hub.

The airline currently operates nine domestic routes from Kuching, linking it to major cities like Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Kota Kinabalu, as well as direct international flights to Singapore and Jakarta.

Passengers can also connect to global destinations such as Bali, Ho Chi Minh, Seoul, Tokyo, and Perth through its Fly-Thru network.

“This Travel Fair brings travellers closer to their dream destinations while showcasing Sarawak as a must-visit spot in Malaysia and ASEAN,” Fareh added.
