KUCHING: Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin, former chief operations officer of Malaysia Helicopter Services (MHB), has been confirmed as the new chief executive officer of AirBorneo Airlines.
This was announced today by State Secretary Datuk Seri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building.
Abu Bakar said Megat will officially report for duty on Jan 1, 2026.
He confirmed that Megat will succeed Bruno Navet, the airline’s former CEO, who had led the company since its early operations.
When asked to confirm whether Megat is the new CEO, Abu Bakar simply replied, “Yes.”
The appointment comes as AirBorneo prepares for its next phase of operations.
Megat Ardian, who holds a Master’s in Aviation and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, brings decades of experience in aviation and travel, having held senior roles at AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, and Malaysia Airports Holdings, most recently as Chief Aviation & Strategy Officer.
His career includes international leadership roles at Flynas and Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, along with consulting for IATA and other airlines, specialising in digital and commercial transformation and strategic initiatives.
