AirBorneo gears up for operational readiness

KUCHING: AirBorneo is currently in the midst of a complete dry run and system testing phase to ensure all digital functions are running smoothly before it begins operations.

In stating this Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said he was encouraged by the airline’s progress and welcomed its announcement that its official website will go live on Dec 10,

Lee described the move as a key milestone in the state-owned airline’s path toward operational readiness.

“The ongoing system testing is essential to ensure a seamless, reliable and user-friendly platform for future passengers.

“This milestone reflects the team’s commitment and the hard work that has been put in over the past months,” he said.

Lee said the Sarawak government continues to monitor the airline’s readiness closely as AirBorneo moves toward its full operational rollout.

He also commended staff for working round the clock to meet project timelines.

“The go-live of the website will serve as the public’s first engagement point with Sarawak’s own airline.

“I am confident the team will deliver a platform that showcases professionalism and the spirit of service,” he said.

AirBorneo, formerly MASwings and now transitioning under Sarawak’s ownership, is expected to enhance rural air services and strengthen connectivity across Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan.
