KUCHING: Aero Trans Resources and Global Aero Services Sdn Bhd are jointly committed in proposing (implement) the Aviation and Aerospace related Programmes.
Apparently, Sarawak will be first of its programme that offers such a comprehensive aviation curriculum for those who are keen in pursuing their careers in aviation, such as Airport management, Air Traffic Controller, Engineering or as a Pilot, said a press release yesterday.
This was sealed in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Akademi Pengakap Sarawak and Aero Trans Resources/Global Aero Services and withnessed by National Chief Scout Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Paduka Dr. Haji Shafie Mohd Salleh, National Chief Scout Commissioner Major General (Rtd) Prof. Dato’ Dr. Zin Bidin and Sarawak Chief Scout Commissioner, Sudaryo Haji Osman.
The MoU is aimed at strategic collaboration to conduct all training and activities related to aviation and especially to further advance the training of air scouts in Sarawak. It is also targeted to stimulate the interest of learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) amongst youths particularly scouts.
“Through this collaboration, we hope that the air scouting in Sarawak will further advance its training of scouts especially in the technical knowledge of air scouting and indirectly attracting more young scouts to love and interest to learn STEM.
“The curriculum and programme offered; containing all the essential components and generic application describes the programme in sufficient details so that it would clearly understand and refine some of the elements in both complete(advanced) or from beginner to advanced level,” said local spokesman through the statement.
Further more, this information were to be presented to all educational institutions including pre-schools, junior, senior schools, higher learning institutions and all levels of aviation enthusiasts. This programme will focus on developing information which is integrated with the “STEM” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) subject.
“As an initial step, we are offering smart partnership with Persatuan Pengakap Malaysia, Cawangan Sarawak with the collaboration of Academy Pengakap Sarawak.
“This smart partnership is to train air scouts of Sarawak in order to complete badge scheme as required in scout syllabus.
“We are offering wide range of services related to Aviation and Aerospace ranging from Sim Pilot Programme for Fix Wing, Rotary Wing and Aptitude Test (preparation for new pilot.) Basic Flying Training which consists of Private Pilot Licence (Restricted), Recreational Flying, Trial Introduction Flight, Paramotor and PPL Ground School (According to DCAM syllabus). UAV/Drone Flying Training Courses for those who are interested either in leisure, recreational or professional flying.
“We believe in our capabilities in educating and developing aviation enthusiasts in the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, learning valuable life, work skills, thus enabling them to succeed no matter what career or jobs they choose in the aviation industry,” said the spokesman through the press release.
Through this training programme, it is to assist young aviators who have dreams to be in the Aviation and Aerospace industry and to produce skilled human capital in line with national policy with the theme of ‘Explore, Discover and Inspire’.
