KUCHING: Al-Quthuz FC had no trouble securing all three points in their opening match of the PSRC League Cup 2025, recording a dominant 7-0 victory over Starcops.
The emphatic win sends an early warning to rivals, further solidifying Al-Quthuz’s growing reputation as a team to watch in the tournament.
Al-Quthuz FC President, Sayed Habib Ahmad Sayed Hossain, expressed his delight over the team’s strong start.
“A positive start for us with a convincing win by the players yesterday. I hope they can maintain that momentum in the upcoming matches,” said Habib to Sarawak Tribune .
He added that the players made the most of their chances throughout the match and executed their game plan well.
Al-Quthuz FC will next face Gallop this coming Friday (August 1).
This season, Al-Quthuz FC is bolstered by several well-known players, including Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak, Mohd Badrul Hisham Mohd Hussien, along with many promising young talents.
The PSRC League Cup 2025, held at Sontegik Permai Field, Sibu, offers lucrative prizes for top teams.
The champion will walk away with RM6,000 in cash, a trophy and medals.
The runner-up will receive RM4,000, a trophy and medals, while third place will take home RM2,000, a trophy and medals.
The fourth-placed team will earn RM1,000 and medals.
