KUCHING: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) exponent from Sarawak, Alfaldo Riski Hendra, secured third place at the prestigious Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Professional (AJP) Grand Slam in China recently, marking a major milestone in his sporting career.

Competing against top-ranked athletes from more than 30 countries, Alfaldo’s podium finish puts Sarawak and Malaysia on the map in one of the world’s toughest BJJ circuits.

“Winning third place at such a prestigious event is an incredible honour.

“I’m proud to represent Kuching and Malaysia on this stage, and I hope this achievement inspires more young people in Sarawak to pursue martial arts and competitive sports,” he told Sarawak Tribune via an email interview today.
