KUALA LUMPUR: The country’s top men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 All England Badminton Championships after defeating compatriots, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, in a quarter-final action held in Birmingham on Friday.

The world number two pair recorded a 21-16, 20-22, 21-14 victory in a 61-minute battle, subsequently booking their ticket to the final four of the world’s oldest badminton tournament.

This victory marks the fifth win for Aaron-Wooi Yik over the national pair out of eight total encounters.

In the semifinals, Aaron-Wooi Yik are scheduled to face China’s Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi, who advanced after defeating the Indonesian pair, Muhammad Rian Ardianto-Rahmat Hidayat, 21-16, 21-10 in another quarter-final match.

This upcoming clash will be the fourth meeting between the two pairs, with Aaron-Wooi Yik holding a 3-1 head-to-head advantage over the Chinese duo.

A victory in the semifinal would propel the national pair to the All England final, opening the opportunity to add another prestigious achievement to their international careers. – BERNAMA
