SIBU: The school’s alumni is a reflection of the current and future generations that education is key to success.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said it was an example for today’s students that what they achieved could be the basis for greater achievement in the future.
Continue to succeed in any field, and every success of yours will surely be our pride, as well as inspiring others,” he said at the SMK Sibu Jaya Alumni Club’s Reunion Night held at a prominent hotel here on Saturday.
He was represented by Joshua Ting Fu Ying, political secretary to the Premier, who delivered his speech on his behalf.
Tiong, who is also Bintulu Member of Parliament, described SMK Sibu Jaya not just as an educational institution but it was also a place where many successful individuals and leaders have been produced, polished their talent, and a bright future.
“We all here tonight have a special bond with this school. At the same time, the close relationships you build through this alumni club also play an important role in strengthening the spirit of togetherness and developing the Sibu Jaya community,” he added.

As a Dudong state assemblyman, he said, he would always emphasise the importance of education in developing the young generation’s future.
According to him, schools like SMK Sibu Jaya is an important asset in society as it not only produces students who are academically and co -curriculars, but also create strong personalities.
“I am committed to continuing to support all efforts aimed at improving the quality of education and school infrastructure in this area.
“Continuous community development requires the collaboration of all parties, and I am confident that with the support of alumni, parents, and the community, SMK Sibu Jaya will continue to prosper and excel,” he said.
In this regard, Tiong also called on the younger generation to study at SMK Sibu Jaya to continue their study with dedication and enthusiasm.
“You are all our future hope. Follow the footsteps of the successful alumni, and use the experience and knowledge gained in this school as a stepping stone to achieve higher ambitions,” he said.
He also congratulated and thanked the SMK Sibu Jaya alumni for their contribution not only to the school but also to the community.
“May the relationship between alumni and school continue to remain strong, for the sake of mutual benefit towards improving education and strengthening our community,” Tiong added.
