KUCHING: AmMetLife Takaful Bhd has appointed Nazrulhisham Abdul Hamid as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective June 16, 2025.
In its statement, MetLife said Nazrulhisham brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the takaful and insurance sectors, including more than a decade in family and general takaful operations.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zurich Takaful Malaysia.
He also holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Universiti Teknologi MARA and a bachelor’s degree in science (honours) in accounting and finance from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
Commenting on the appointment, MetLife’s Regional Head for Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, and Vietnam, Elena Butarova, said the company is pleased to welcome him to the role.
“We are excited to welcome Haji Nazrul to AmMetLife Takaful.
“His proven leadership, deep industry knowledge, and strong track record in driving growth and operational excellence will be instrumental in taking our takaful business to new heights,” she said.
