KUCHING: Corporal Mohd Hafizul Tuah, a Sarawakian officer serving under the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), made headlines after claiming gold in the Men’s Bodybuilding (30–39) category at the 2025 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) in Alabama, United States on Tuesday (July 1).
Hafizul, who has dreamed of competing on the world stage since 2017, secured Malaysia’s first gold at this edition of the Games, adding another feather to his cap after being crowned “Champion of Champions” at the Mr. Police 2025 competition earlier in May.
In a recent interview with TVS, the Sarawakian bodybuilder expressed his pride in raising Malaysia’s flag on foreign soil:
“I feel very proud — not only for the country, but also for PDRM and my beloved home state of Sarawak… This is my first opportunity in this championship after dreaming since 2017, and I feel extremely excited about this success.”
However, the journey to gold was nonetheless made from blood, sweat and tears.
“Since January, I have undergone rigorous training and maintained a strict diet despite rising costs… but I never lost heart,” he said, opening up about the sacrifices made behind the scenes.
Hafizul credited his family — both in Kuala Lumpur and in Sarawak — for being the driving force behind his determination and motivation to achieve success.
Held biennially by the California Police Athletic Federation, the World Police & Fire Games attract over 8,500 participants from more than 70 countries, competing across 60 sporting events.
