KUCHING: Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, the Right Reverend Datuk Danald Jute, has been elected as the president of the Council of Churches of Malaysia for the 2025-2028 term.

The Anglican Diocesan Youth Council (ADYC) extended its congratulations in a Facebook post, expressing gratitude for his leadership and offering prayers for continued wisdom and strength as he takes on the new role.

“Congratulations to Rt Revd Datuk Danald Jute on your election as president of the Council of Churches of Malaysia for the 2025–2028 term!

“We give thanks to God for your faithful leadership and pray for His continued wisdom and strength as you serve the Body of Christ in this new capacity,” it said.

The message also included a Bible verse from Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God, the Father through Him.”
