ACTRESS Anna Jobling has admitted she is no longer keeping her relationship with Indonesian celebrity Karel Susanteo under wraps.
However, Anna said she has no plans to take the relationship to the next stage for now, as she is prioritising her career.
“I think everyone can already see and knows about our relationship.
So, I don’t really have anything else to say, except that I hope everyone will wish us well.
“Right now, I’m focused on work. I’m not even getting enough sleep.
As I’ve said, just pray for the best. At the moment, I’m very busy and want to continue focusing on my career.
That’s my priority now.
There’s no need to rush anything,” she said.
Asked what attracted her to Karel, the 25-year-old offered a simple answer.
“His personality… that’s all,” she said.
Their relationship first caught the attention of netizens after several photos and romantic posts shared on social media went viral, fuelling speculation that they were dating.
Earlier, Karel, a former member of Indonesian boy band Super7, shared a black-and-white selfie with Anna on Instagram, accompanied by a simple caption featuring the number “2” and a white heart emoji.
The couple also drew attention after they were spotted holidaying together with family members and friends in Los Angeles, United States.
Meanwhile, Anna is currently starring in the drama ‘Yes! Captain Zul Aaryan’, which is adapted from the popular novel of the same name.
“After finding out that I would be playing Zara Andrea, I immediately bought the novel and read it to understand why it has such a large fan base.
“Once I read it, I understood why it is so popular because the storyline is very engaging.
“My biggest challenge was portraying the character as well as I could so that I wouldn’t disappoint readers.
“Many previous adaptations have received mixed reactions because viewers felt some actors weren’t suitable for their roles.
That’s why I made every effort to fully understand the character and give my best performance,” she said.
Directed by Nizam Zakaria, the drama also stars Jazmy Juma as Captain Zul Aaryan, while Anna plays Zara Andrea.
‘Yes! Captain Zul Aaryan’ follows Zul Aaryan, a pilot who is also a chief executive officer (CEO), as he struggles with emotional trauma after being betrayed by his former girlfriend.
The experience leaves him believing that love is no longer a priority in his life, until he meets Zara.
Their story begins with an accidental coffee spill at the airport, setting the stage for an encounter filled with tension.
