SEBUYAU: Unrelenting rain has put the district on edge, prompting the Civil Defence Force (APM) to intensify flood monitoring as water begins creeping into low-lying residential areas.

A flood-risk patrol was carried out across Sebuyau–Sebangan zone by a nine-member APM team this morning.

Ground checks found that the river at Kampung Seruyuk remained free-flowing at around 0.40m, and floodwaters had already started entering lower sections of residential compounds.

In response, Sebuyau APM has moved into continuous monitoring mode, conducting ongoing risk assessments to ensure the situation does not spiral.

Preparations at temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have also been reviewed and readied, ensuring residents can be moved quickly and safely if conditions deteriorate.

The agency said it remains on high alert as rain continues to fall, with teams standing by to act should the flood threat escalate.
