KUCHING: The Dayung Young Heritage Leaders Programme, commercially known as Dayung Warisan, is now open for applications from young Sarawakian women with a deep interest in culture and community development.
The leadership mentorship programme aims to empower participants with the support, guidance, and skills to transform their cultural heritage project ideas into reality.
“Over a structured two-month journey, participants will receive mentorship and hands-on training to design and implement six community-based cultural preservation projects, each creating meaningful impact within their respective communities,” according to a press statement on Tuesday (Nov 4).
Running from Dec 5, 2025, to Jan 31, 2026, the programme will feature an intensive three-day workshop, weekly mentorship sessions, and guided on-ground project implementation.
“All activities will be facilitated by experienced women leaders in the cultural and heritage sectors, offering participants valuable exposure to community-based leadership and indigenous knowledge.”
Applications are open exclusively to female Sarawakians who demonstrate a strong passion for local culture and community engagement.
“The initiative is organised under the PERANTIS (Program Perantisan Kepimpinan Wanita) framework, part of the developmental agenda by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.”
