Architect wins prestigious award for BCCK design

KUCHING: Datuk Seri John Lau, a Sarawakian architect from Arkitek KDI Sdn Bhd, recently won the Asia Pacific Property Awards for his design of the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

The award was presented to him at The Marriott, Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok, Thailand. 

On his return from Bangkok, Lau paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex in Petra Jaya to present the award.

The award is a world-renowned mark of excellence for developers, architecture firms and property investors who, as a community of professionals, celebrate the highest level of achievements around the world. 

BCCK, designed by Arkitek KDI (AKDI), competed against the most exclusive and best properties across Asia Pacific region. 

Winners of the award are judged by a panel of 80 most esteemed industry experts on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.
