LIMBANG: A smuggling operation was thwarted in the early hours of Tuesday by the 7th Battalion of the Border Regiment under the command of the 9th Infantry Brigade, during Op Jagakawan at the Limbang border post.
During the raid, 10 men were detained, comprising seven Malaysian nationals and three undocumented Filipino immigrants.
The authorities also seized 449 cartons of liquor of various brands, believed to be part of illegal smuggling activities.
The total value of the seized items amounted to RM 310,654.00. This includes 449 cartons of liquor worth an estimated RM 170,654.00, two vans valued at RM 20,000.00, and a boat worth approximately RM150,000.00.

All confiscated goods and the arrested individuals have been handed over to the police for further investigation and action.
Brigadier General Jafri Sulaiman, Commander of the 9th Brigade, commended the troops for their success in combating smuggling activities, underscoring their dedication to protecting Malaysia’s territorial integrity.
