KUCHING: The third round of the 58th Edition of the Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Asajaya Unity Cup Football Tournament is set to intensify when matches resume on tomorrow (Mar 29).
Sambir Bistari Football Club (KBSB) patron Datuk Abdullah Julaihi said the round will feature a strong lineup of top teams, with many experienced players setting the stage for high-quality encounters.
“The third round will begin tomorrow, and we expect the competition to be intense.
“This is because all participating teams are focused on securing victories to qualify for the next stage,” he told Sarawak Tribune during his Hari Raya open house here today (Mar 28).
Also present at the event were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, as well as Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, who is also the Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
Abdullah believes all teams involved will be well-prepared to face the demanding challenges in each match.

Six matches will be held on Sunday: Camutezz FC will face Mix Border (8 am), Tabuan FT will take on Pomchai FC (9.15 am), Legacy Muara Tebas will meet Kuak FC (10.10 am), Komeng GK will play Tabau Legacy (1.45 pm), Sambir Gym will face Tambirat Legacy (3 pm), and KBSB 1 will take on Mix GB (4.15 pm).
The 58th edition of the tournament is organised by KBSB and offers attractive prizes. The champion will take home RM7,000 in cash, along with the challenge trophy, a subsidiary trophy, medals, sports vouchers sponsored by LSC, and final match jerseys.
The runner-up will receive RM5,000 in cash, a subsidiary trophy, medals, LSC-sponsored sports vouchers, and final match jerseys.
The two losing semi-finalists will each receive RM3,000 in cash, a trophy, medals, and LSC-sponsored sports vouchers as joint third-place winners.
Meanwhile, the four teams eliminated at the quarter-final stage will not leave empty-handed, as they will each receive RM500 in cash and a trophy.
Awards will also be presented for Best Player and Top Scorer.
