KUCHING: Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, received a courtesy visit from Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, at the Sarawak State Assembly Building on Thursday.
The courtesy visit, followed by a luncheon hosted by Mohamad Asfia, aimed to discuss efforts to strengthen legislative relations between the UK and Malaysia, particularly with the Sarawak State Assembly.
During the meeting, the delegation led by Hoyle, had the opportunity to tour the Assembly Chamber and admire the unique architectural design of the Sarawak State Assembly Building.
Also present during the visit were the acting British High Commissioner, David Wallace; Chief of Staff to the UK Speaker, Helen Wood; Deputy Chief of Staff to the UK Speaker, David Clark; Institutional and Governance Officer at the British High Commission, Farah Nor; and Government and Protocol Liaison Officer at the British High Commission, Iman Hamdan.
