NAGOYA: Malaysia dispatched the Philippines 3-0 for their second Group B win in the men’s team regu competition at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Gymnasium here today (Sept 21).
Having defeated hosts Japan by a similar score yesterday, today’s win further strengthens Malaysia’s position in the group stage.
Malaysia clearly meant business as all three regus delivered consistent performances to ensure victory over the Philippines.
The first regu of Muhammad Zulkifli Abd Razak, Muhammad Afifuddin Mohd Razali and Aidil Aiman Azwawi got the ball rolling with a 15-2, 15-11 win, followed by a 15-5, 15-8 victory by the second regu.
Malaysia’s third regu completed the whitewash with a 15-10, 15-0 triumph. — BERNAMA
