BANGKOK, Thailand: The processing and packaging industry across Asia is expected to see continued growth this year, particularly driven by increasing demand from the food and beverage (F&B) sector and expanding manufacturing activities across the region.
Informa Markets in Thailand’s Country General Manager, Sanchai Noombunnam, said that despite mixed economic performance across sectors in Thailand, the F&B industry remains one of the country’s key growth drivers.
“Thailand ranked 12th globally in food exports in 2023, reflecting the strong fundamentals of the sector.
“This strength is also reflected across many Asian markets, where demand for processed food and modern packaging solutions continues to grow,” he told reporters during the ProPak Asia 2026 media familiarisation trip.
According to Sanchai, manufacturers across Asia are increasingly seeking advanced technologies to improve production efficiency, enhance product safety, and extend shelf life in response to changing consumer expectations and evolving regulatory requirements.
He said that as global supply chains continue to evolve, manufacturers are accelerating investments in automation, digitalisation, sustainability, and intelligent production systems.
He said rising production costs, regulatory pressures, and increasing demand for traceability and environmentally responsible packaging are reshaping industrial strategies across ASEAN and beyond.
“In today’s environment, uncertainty is pushing industry to upgrade faster,” he said.
As for ProPak Asia 2026, Sanchai said the exhibition will serve as “a key platform for companies to access new technologies, build partnerships and gain insights to improve efficiency, strengthen quality and compliance, and develop more sustainable operations from processing and production through to packaging, warehousing and logistics”.
ProPak Asia 2026, a premier international trade exhibition for processing and packaging technology in Asia, will be held from June 10-13, 2026, at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand.
Organised by Informa Markets in Thailand, the 2026 edition will bring together industry leaders, technology innovators, manufacturers, and decision-makers across food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, personal care, fast-moving consumer goods, and consumer goods sectors under one platform.
Informa Markets is one of five divisions of the United Kingdom (UK)-based parent company Informa PLC.
In addition, ProPak Asia 2026 will spotlight next-generation technologies, including artificial intelligence-powered automation, robotics, smart factory systems, Internet of Things-enabled production monitoring, advanced processing equipment, cold chain innovations, and sustainable packaging materials and design.
More than 2,500 exhibiting brands from 45 countries will participate, alongside 15 international pavilions from 14 countries and regions, including Australia, Bavaria, China, France, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, North America, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Spain and the United Kingdom.
ProPak Asia 2026 will also showcase over 18,000 technologies and machinery across nine specialised industry zones and is expected to attract more than 90,000 attendees, including 15,000 international attendees, while 95 per cent of the exhibition space has been sold. – From Durratul Ain Ahmad Fuad/BERNAMA
