KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), the wholly-owned unit trust management company of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), today launched ASNB COVR, an initiative that combines unit trust investment with takaful protection.
Through ASNB COVR, unit holders can pay as little as RM40 per month to enjoy takaful protection of up to RM100,000.
ASNB chief executive officer and executive director Fadzihan Abbas said the initiative, introduced in collaboration with Takaful Ikhlas Family Bhd, is in line with PNB’s goal of strengthening the financial position of Malaysians across generations.
He said that ASNB COVR is a hybrid unit takaful protection service in which 75 per cent of the monthly savings will be invested in unit trusts chosen by the unit holders, while the remaining 25 per cent will be channelled into takaful fully managed by Takaful Ikhlas.
By offering five affordable plans ranging from RM40 to RM200 per month, investors can obtain comprehensive takaful protection, including coverage for death, permanent disability and critical illness.
“All these plans can be easily subscribed to and managed via the MyASNB portal and the MyASNB application,” he said at the ASNB COVR launch ceremony here today.
Fadzihan noted that unit holders who subscribe to the ASNB COVR120 package and above will stand a chance to win prizes worth up to RM3,000 under a campaign running from Aug 25, 2025, to Jan 31, 2026.
He also expressed confidence that 10 per cent of ASNB’s 13 million unit holders would participate in the scheme.
Meanwhile, Takaful Ikhlas president and chief executive officer Wan Ahmad Najib Wan Ahmad Lotfi said the initiative not only strengthens financial protection but also broadens access to inclusive takaful coverage for ASNB unit holders.
For ASNB COVR, no medical examination is required. Unit holders only need to subscribe online via the MyASNB application or portal, which can also be used to submit takaful claims.
According to ASNB, the launch of ASNB COVR underscores its commitment to empowering Malaysians, not only to invest but also to safeguard their financial future.
The initiative forms part of the ‘Kita Generasi Labur’ campaign, aimed at building a financially literate society capable of achieving true financial independence.
