KUCHING: Amanah Saham Sarawak (ASSAR) declared an interim dividend distribution of 3.0 sen per unit for the 2026 financial year, extending its run of twice-yearly distributions since January 2024.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the fifth distribution following the restructuring of ASSAR involved a total payment of RM15.24 million to 57,878 investors, calculated based on unit holdings as of December 31, 2025.
“This means there is excess income of RM12.95 million available as reserves to support the income of the ASSAR fund for the subsequent period.

“I hope this highly competitive interim dividend distribution rate will further spark interest and encourage more Bumiputera in Sarawak to invest,” he said.
He said this when announcing the ASSAR interim dividend distribution at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi here today.
Abang Johari shared that ASSAR recorded gross income of RM19.87 million in the first six months of the financial year ending June 30, 2026.
He said 42 per cent (RM8.34 million) came from interest income from fixed income securities, while 36 per cent (RM7.18 million) was from gains on equity or share sales.
He added that 14 per cent (RM2.83 million) was from equity or share dividends, with the remaining 8 per cent (RM1.52 million) from money market interest income and gains from fixed income securities sales.
He appointed out that, after deducting expenses of RM3.68 million, ASSAR’s net income for the period stood at RM16.19 million, while total distributable income as at December 31, 2025 was RM28.19 million after taking into account RM12 million in excess income from the previous financial year.
“Fixed income securities continue to be the backbone of the ASSAR fund, providing a stable income stream and reducing the impact of unpredictable stock market conditions,” he said.
Alongside the competitive dividend distribution, he noted that ASSAR is a safe and low-risk investment instrument, supported by a minimum unit price guarantee mechanism of RM1.00 per unit.
He said ASSAR’s restructuring plan, implemented at the end of 2022, was aimed at balancing fund risk, preserving unit-holders’ investment value, and ensuring sustainable long-term income generation.
“Alhamdulillah, those efforts have produced a very satisfactory impact and ASSAR has now been able to distribute dividends consistently every six months since January 2024.
“Cumulatively, post-restructuring dividend distributions have reached RM56.85 million.
“ASSAR’s net asset value fluctuates in line with market conditions, and volatility has remained controlled, with an average net asset value of around RM1.11 per unit for the first six months of the financial year ending June 30, 2026,” he said.
