The donations were not only meant to brighten the atmosphere for the patients ahead of the Gawai Dayak celebration but also to reflect his concern and compassion for the local community in need.

“Although they are celebrating Gawai in a modest setting at the hospital, I hope these small contributions bring joy and encouragement to them and their families,” he said.

During the visit, he also approved funding for the installation of a new air-conditioning unit in the children’s ward treatment room to replace the old, damaged unit.

He also witnessed the handover of medical equipment to Bau Hospital from the Rotary Club of Kuching City in collaboration with The Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Also present were Bau Hospital Director, Jasmany Liboh; its medical officer, Dr Elsa-Preeti Davis; representative of the Bau District Office, Saffika Kueh; past president of the Rotary Club of Kuching City, Andre Suharto; and representatives from the Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Larry and Yevette Hattaway.
