Association holds meeting to discuss roles in Kaul Mukah

MUKAH: The president of the Mukah Melanau Association, Abdul Yakub Arbi, who is also the Balingian assemblyman, chaired a meeting to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the association in the Kaul Mukah 2023 main committee.

The meeting, attended by members of the Persekutuan Persatuan Melanau Sarawak (PPMS), was held at the PPMS meeting room, PPMS building to discuss the association’s agenda. It was also attended by Tellian assemblyman, Royston Valentine

At the end of the meeting, Abdul Yakub presented award certificates for the PMM Gala Dinner held in early January to several recipients.

According to Abdul Yakub, who is also the chairman of the Kaul Mukah 2023 Committee, the Kaul Mukah 2023 event will take place from April 26 to May 1.

“The Kaul Kakan Serahang will be held early on March 11.

“The coordination meeting discussed the activities and programme content throughout Kaul Mukah 2023, which will be filled with many planned activities.

“The Kaul Serahang Kakan tomorrow (March 11) provides an opportunity for all local residents and out-of-town visitors to attend and participate in the festivities.

“The theme for Kaul Mukah 2023 is ‘Tiada Seuniknya’ (Nothing is More Unique), with the Kaul Mukah 2023 opening ceremony to be attended by the Premier of Sarawak on April 29.

“Meanwhile, the Keman Kaul and Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri will take place on April 30.

“The activities to be held throughout Kaul Mukah 2023 include keman kaul, teuwaih jinih competition, bidar lukut race, traditional sports, tibow competition and games, serahang kakan workshop, iseak a melanau, traditional sports, and many more.
