Association treats care home residents to CNY dinner

KUCHING: Kuching Love Book Association recently held Chinese New Year dinners for the Kuching Salvation Army Children’s Care Centre and Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng.

There are currently 56 children living in the Kuching Salvation Army Children’s Care Centre and 33 residents at the Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng.

“We enjoyed the delicious food and cookies, we also prepared ‘Ang Pow’ and Chinese New Year gift packs to all the children and elderly,” said the association in a statement.

“We also provided Chinese New Year gifts to two deaf-mute and elderly families last week, presenting them with ‘Ang Pow’, New Year gift pack, Mandarin oranges, cookies, rice, canned food, Milo drinks, coffee, toiletries.

“In addition we also delivered special New Year hampers and blessings to the Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah Kuching and Home of Peace recently.”

The association is also grateful to Jun Rong Stutong for donating 40 sets of bath towels and medicated oils to the Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching.
