KAPIT: The unveiling of a new signboard for the Persatuan Pembangunan dan Kebudayaan China Kapit-Song marks the association’s growing presence and commitment to serving the local community.
Deputy Minister in the Premier Department of Sarawak (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat said the signboard was more than a physical structure, as it represented the association’s identity, credibility and commitment to its mission.
He said the signboard, unveiled at the association’s premises along Jalan Selirik By-pass here on Saturday (Sept 26), also served as a formal symbol of its home and operational base.
“Today marks a milestone in the organisation’s journey, the official unveiling of its physical identity.
“The launching of the signboard also helps to boost staff morale, giving employees a sense of belonging and a clear point of pride, while allowing the organisation to be easily found by partners, clients and collaborators,” he said.
Jamit, who is also Bukit Goram assemblyman, said the signboard would make the association’s services more accessible to the public by making its office easier to locate.
He described it as a symbol of service and a “beacon” to the community that the organisation was present, open and ready to serve.
He also welcomed the association’s presence as part of the local landscape and its intention to contribute positively to the surrounding community.
“With the signage in place, it provides a physical presence that fosters trust and enables the community to know exactly where the organisation is located and how to reach them,” he said.
Jamit expressed hope that the launching of the signboard would serve as a metaphor for the association’s growth and development.
“Just as the sign is now visible, the organisation’s impact will become more visible in the coming years,” he said.
He also thanked the association’s management team and contractors involved in designing and installing the signboard.
Present at the ceremony were association chairman Kapitan Yiap Yii Hoo, representatives from various government agencies, visiting association members from throughout Malaysia, Penghulu James Sandak Bidai and local Chinese community leaders.
