KUCHING: Astana Negeri Sarawak recently hosted a breaking-of-fast event with community leaders and residents from the Demak Laut constituency in a heartfelt celebration of Ramadan.
Among the distinguished guests were Demak Laut assemblyman Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, accompanied by his wife Datin Dayang Halimah Abang Paul.
Guests were warmly received by Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, senior private secretary to the Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
“May this Ramadan continue to bring blessings, peace, and well-being to all of us,” said Syed Hamzah.
Also in attendance were the director of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Sarawak Datuk Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi, and his wife Datin Rosnah Tangkong.
The event was further enlivened by the participation of the Kampung Nanas Hulu Simunjan Committee, KMKK representatives, and local residents of Demak Laut, who gathered in the spirit of unity and devotion to embrace the blessings of the holy month.
Following the breaking of fast, guests performed the Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers in congregation, led by Ustaz Mohd Safwan bin Mahli Al-Hafiz, senior assistant of Tahfiz Al-Quran.
The serene and reverent atmosphere of worship enriched the spirit of Ramadan among all present.
The evening continued with a Tadarus Al-Quran recording session in collaboration with Radio Sarawak FM, featuring the participation of staff members and their children from Astana Negeri.
The session aimed to revive the practice of Tadarus during Ramadan and was reviewed by Mohd Safwan to ensure accuracy and fluency in the recitation of the holy verses.
