KUCHING: Kuching will take centre stage as the final destination of the Atas Angin Festival 2026 Tour, closing the nationwide run with a free indie music showcase ahead of the festival’s Kuala Lumpur finale next month.
The one-day event will unfold at Star On Stage Kuching on Jan 24, 2026, from 4.00 pm onwards, opening its doors free to the public as a nod to Sarawak’s loyal and steadily growing independent music following.
Organised by Atas Angin MY, the tour acts as a curtain-raiser for the ‘Atas Angin Festival 2026: One Last Shine’, scheduled for Feb 14 at Rooftop @7, MyTown Cheras, while doubling as a grassroots platform that brings live music closer to fans in a more personal and unfiltered setting.
Six local acts, including Heroine, The Rollers, Drasska, Adruce, Jon dan Harith, and Huza, will lead the Kuching edition, delivering performances that span genres and moods, as well as highlighting the rich sonic diversity that defines Malaysia’s indie landscape.
The Kuching stop also serves as a launchpad for festival buzz, with tickets to Atas Angin Festival 2026 priced from RM105 available on site alongside official merchandise for fans looking to carry a piece of the movement home.
According to the organiser, the tour reflects a long-term vision to cultivate a sustainable, inclusive and borderless independent music ecosystem that thrives beyond major urban centres.
“The AAF26 Tour is not just a series of shows, but a movement to carry the spirit of Atas Angin MY into local music communities,” a representative of the organising team said, describing Kuching as a fitting and meaningful closing chapter before the spotlight shifts to Kuala Lumpur.
Music lovers are encouraged to turn up, soak in the live performances, and be part of the final tour stop that sends Atas Angin Festival 2026 into its last shine.
